Death

STANFIELD - Lura Bell Hinson Yow, 92, of 4309-A Yow Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, at her residence. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. At other times they will meet at the home. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, Stanfield, with the Rev. Darryle Nance and the Rev. Eddie Connell officiating. Burial will be at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Yow was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Stanly County, the daughter of the late James Hinson and the late Lillie Whitley Hinson. She was a homemaker and a member of Kinza Memorial Baptist Church, Stanfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl "Tom" Columbia Yow, who died in 1976; three brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Kay (Yow) Furr and husband, Eddie of the home; son, Kenneth Yow of Norwood; sisters, Carrie Hartsell of Midland, Beedie Kennedy of Concord and Margaret Love of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
