Marvin Dewitt Thompson, age 90, of Shallotte, N.C., died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Autumn Care - Shallotte in Shallotte, N.C. Thompson was employed by Stanly County Schools - Stanfield and was a member of First Baptist Church-Locust,NC. He Served in the Army. Born May 28, 1917 in Cabarrus County, NC, he was the son of the late Marshall Dommie Thompson and the late Mattie Little Thompson. He is survived by his wife Marie Furr Thompson of Autumn Care; Son-Kenneth Thompson of Supply, N.C. Brother-William "Bill" Thompson of Concord, N.C. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland, PO Box 100, Midland, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church - Locust at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 27, 2007 , Dr. Kinney Wallace and Rev. Eddie Barbee officiating. Interment will be at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Locust, N.C.Endnotes
