Death
Sunday, November 12, 2006 — Gary Irvin Morgan, 61, loved by his family and many friends, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2006, after several years of declining health. The Morgan family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. At other times, they will be at the family home in Concord. The funeral service will be held Monday, Novem-ber 13, 2006, at 11 A.M. at the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord. Reverend Darrell Coble and Reverend Bo Sherrill of Parkwood Baptist Church will be officiating the service. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis following the service. Mr. Morgan was born in Stanly County on Septem-ber 14, 1945. He is the son of Irvin C. Morgan and Gladys Furr Morgan of Charlotte. He was raised in Cabarrus County, NC. Sur-vivors include his devoted wife of 43 years Betty Curlee Morgan; his two cherished daughters; Beverly Morgan and Lesa Kluttz of Hudson, NC along with her husband Kenneth and his two grandsons, Jacob and Dillon Kluttz, whom he adored. Additional survivors in-clude his three brothers, Buddy Morgan and Jerry Morgan of Charlotte and Douglas Morgan of China Grove, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Winecoff High School. He was employed by Duke Power Company of Charlotte for 35 years. Gary was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a people person who never met a stranger and had many good friends over the years. The Morgan family would like to extend a very special thank you to Mrs. Teresa Efird. She is an ICU nurse at NE Medical Center who was Gary’s advocate, caregiver and a wonderful source of peace and comfort to his family. Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, is serving the family.
