Death

David Julian Mize, 73, of Salisbury, NC passed away Wednesday May 29, 2024, at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. He was born May 11, 1951, in Rowan County, the son of the late Ernest C. Mize, Sr. and the late Helen Sue Furr Mize. David attended Midwood Baptist Church. He was an accomplished archer and won the North Carolina Field Archery State Championship five times. He later developed a passion for photography and decorated his house with his photographic works. In 2012, David moved to Salisbury where he renovated his new home that would eventually be included on the Salisbury Historic Homes Tour. He was also active in a local chess club. David worked at PCA, Wrexham and 3M, where he was involved in the manufacturing and printing of cardboard containers. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Richard Loman. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
