ROCK HILL - Delano Boyce Covington Sr., 73, of 1718 Pope Street, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Agape Senior in Rock Hill, S.C. A native of Rock Hill, Mr. Covington was born March 7, 1937, a son of the late John A. and Toye Evans Covington. He was retired from Celanese and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Louise Furr Covington; a son, Delano Boyce Covington Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mildred Jeanette Covington of Rock Hill and Grace Hannen of Louisville, Ky.; and one grandchild, Amber M. Covington of Rock Hill. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Covington will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, S.C., is serving the family.
