Death

CONCORD --The funeral is today for Alvin Andrew Drye, 50, 4911 Poplar Tent Road, who died Sunday (Dec. 21, 2003)at NorthEast Medical Center. Born June 2, 1953, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Drye was a son of Arthur James Drye, Kannapolis, and the late Ruby Furr Drye. He was an auto body repairman at Ben Myatt Chevrolet. Active with the Boy Scouts of America, he was a former assistant scoutmaster of Troop 34 in Kannapolis. He coached basketball and baseball for Winecoff Youth League. Survivors, in addition to his father, include wife Brenda Adcock Drye; sons Chad Andrew Drye, Kannapolis, and Todd Drye, of the home; sisters Connie Goodman, Zelly James, and Cindy Drye, all of Kannapolis, and Holley Drye, Concord; and brothers James Drye, Kannapolis, and Larry Drye, Mount Pleasant. Services: 3 today, First Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Forbis Kivett and the Rev. Harold Adcock. Burial,Carolina Memorial Park. Visitation: 1:30-3 today in the church fellowship hall. Lady's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, is in charge.
