He was born the son of the late Lee Roy Drye and Lillie Viola Burris Drye. Arthur was employed at the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant #1, Warp Room for thirty-five years until his retirement. He was a charter member of Mt. Mitchell Fire Department and a life long resident of Rimer/Mt. Mitchell communities. Arthur held his church membership at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby F. Drye; a son, Alvin Drye; five brothers; and two sisters.Endnotes
