STANFIELD - Autie Lee Clontz Connell, 93 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Mrs. Connell was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Stanly County to the late Alfred Clontz and Cora Ethel Crayton Clontz. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Ray Connell in 2003. Survivors include her son Charles Connell and wife, Barbara, of Locust; daughters Mildred Williams and husband, H.B., of Salisbury and Carol Furr and husband, Hubert, of Gold Hill; brother Johnny Clontz and wife, Naomi, of Stanfield; sisters Blanche Clontz Yow of Stanfield and Brenda Horne and husband, Mitchell, of Marshville; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, May 14, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. At other times, the family will meet at her home at 500 West Stanly Street of Stanfield. Service: The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Stanfield, 12074 NC Hwy. 200, Stanfield, with a 30 minute in state prior to the service. Rev. Bruce League and Rev. Steve Holshouser will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials: May be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001, Hospice of Rowan County, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28114, or First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 279, Stanfield, NC 28163.
