Death
Mrs. M. L. (Granny) Helms, 92, died last night at 9:30 o'clock at the home of her son, B. L. Helms, 3301 Robinson St. She had been ill one day. Mrs. Helms was a member of the Wilmore Presbyterian Church. She was born March 30, 1860, and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Furr of Union County. Funeral services are incomplete. The body is at McEwen Funeral Home. Mrs. Helms is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. W. Gibson and Mrs. L. J. Earner, both of Charlotte. In addition to her son she is survived by 24 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, September 28, 1952
