Death
LOCUST — Mrs. Oma Elizabeth Sossamon Furr, 95, died November 4, 1997 at The Five Oaks Nursing Home, Concord. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Kinney Wallace, Pastor, officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30- 8:30 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. Born February 19, 1902 in Stanly County, she was the wife of the late Willie Shuford Furr. She was retired from Cannon Mills. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Locust. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Willie Chadwick of Florida and Mrs. Marie Thompson of Stanfield, NC; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Winford Furr.
