Death
John Henry Furr, Sr. Age 69 of Carthage died Wednesday April 24th 2013 at his residence. Mr. Furr was born on May 8th 1943 in Moore County to the late Archie Furr and Orene Frances (Frye) Furr. A memorial service will be held 3PM on Sunday April 28th 2013 at the Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines with a visitation time to follow. Mr. Furr was a 1963 graduate of Hamlet High School. He was well known for his landscaping abilities. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce Dean (Scott) Furr. A son, John Henry Furr, Jr. and fiancée Tammy Banks of Cameron. Four sisters, Shirley Cockman of Carthage, Linda Chavis of Hamlet, Judith Hatcher of Pittsboro, and Kathy Mehta of Hamlet. Also several nieces and nephews. Mr. Furr was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Furr, Jr. and a sister, Frances Lee Williams. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the family. Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines is serving the family.Endnotes
