Death

LOCUST - Mr. John Paulie Furr, Sr. 58, of 710 N. Central Ave., died December 14, 1996 at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle. Services will be held at a later date. Born April 9, 1938 in Stanly County, he was a retired diesel mechanic with Carolina Container Corporation, Charlotte. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Peggy Jordon Furr of Locust; son, John P. Furr, Jr. of Locust; step-son, Coy Wayne Hathcock, II of Stanfield; step-daughters, Mrs. Dara H. Payseur of Belmont, and Mrs. Tammy H. Freeman and Mrs. Leslie H. Coleman, both of Locust; brothers, Floyd M. Furr and Timothy Furr, both of Albemarle and Leonard Furr of Locust; and sisters, Mrs. Beatrice F. Barrows of Jackson, Mrs. Rachel F. Liles of Kannapolis, Mrs. Hazel F. Little of Locust, and Mrs. Trullie F. Smith and Mrs. Jane F. Little, both of Albemarle. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o First Citizens Bank, P.O. Box G, Albemarle, NC 28802. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the family of Mr. Furr.
