Death

Trullie Furr Smith, 89, of Albemarle passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Stanly Manor. Her funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Sunday at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle with Rev. Rick Miller and Rev. Ray Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 on Sunday prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow on Monday at 10 a.m. at Stanly Gardens of Memory. Born January 29, 1931 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Furr and Sarah Cleonia Burris Furr. She was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and retired from Dawson Manufacturing. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lee Smith in 2007. Survivors include daughters Carolyn Smith Faulkner (William), Loretta Smith McLester, and Linda Smith McDaniel (Eddy), all of Albemarle; two sisters, Hazel Little of Locust and Jane Little of Albemarle; sisters-in-law Grace Furr, Autie Furr, and Peggy Furr; six grandchildren Allen McLester, Bryan Faulkner, Todd Faulkner, Eddy McDaniel II, Jennifer Myers and Kevin Faulkner; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd Furr, Joe Furr, Leonard Furr, Tim Furr and Paulie Furr, two sisters, Beatrice Barrow and Rachel Liles, son-in-law, Larry McLester, and great-grandson, Tyler McDaniel.
