Death

CONCORD - Ruby Lee Furr Christy, 60, of 287 Vance Drive N.E., Concord, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at UNC Chapel Hill. Memorial service will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. at Victory Temple in Concord, with the Rev. Gary Posey officiating. The family will receive friends after the service. Ms. Christy was born March 18, 1947, in Cabarrus County, to the late William Houston Furr and the late Margrett Elizabeth Reames Furr. She was disabled. She will always be loved and missed. Surviving are son, Johnny Ray Christy of Concord; two daughters, Brenda Ruth Christy of Concord and Ann Elizabeth Christy of Concord; former husband, Clarence Mason Christy of Concord; brothers, Wayne and Ray Furr, both of Concord; sisters, Betty Johnson of Kannapolis and Louise Tucker of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Simmons, Keith Allan Christy and Brittany Leigh Christy; and great-grandchildren, Sarah Nicole Simmons and Cody James Simmons. The family would like to send their thanks to the two caregivers, Melissa Cutlip and Ronnie Edmisten Jr. Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the family.
