Death

Doris Ann Furr Barbee, 90, of Stanfield passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in Atrium Health Cabarrus. Her funeral service will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2 PM at Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service. Born November 7, 1931 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Furr and Odessa Love Furr and was a former cafeteria worker at Locust School and also a nursing assistant at Northeast Medical Center. She was a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church and a life-long Presbyterian. Mrs. Barbee was a loving wife and mother and she had many friends. Mrs. Barbee was preceded in death by her first husband Herman Jackson Barbee and her second husband Charlie William Renfro. Survivors include son Dana Bain Barbee (Debbie) of Oakboro, daughters Wanda Dahl and Gwen Long (Bobby) both of Stanfield, brother R. J. Furr of Stanfield, 8 grandchildren Alyssa Dallas of Hillsboro, NC, Kimberly Schwartz (Brian) of Clayton, NC, Andrew Dahl of Concord, Crystal Viar (Bill) of Harrisburg, Stacy Aldridge (Eric) of Stanfield, Amanda Griffin (Jeremy) of Locust, Anna Marie Quan (Zack) of Harrisburg, Shelly Harris (David) of Oakboro, and 16 great-grandchildren.
