Death

Modeene F. Brazel, age 83, of Springdale Drive, and formerly of Joanna, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at the Laurens County Hospital in Clinton. She was born in Joanna and was a daughter of the late Jesse L. and Sallie Ann Furr Finney. She was a graduate of Limestone College, was retired from Greenwood Mills, Joanna plant, after more than 50 years of service, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Joanna. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are three nieces, Martha "Mot" Mayer of Laurens, Virginia "GiGi" Smith of Smithville, Va., and Ellen Dodd of Selma, Ala., and several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Joanna with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will be at the home of her niece, Martha Mayer, 108 Grant Drive, Laurens.
