Death

Tuesday, October 16, 2007 — Betty Furr Almond, 76, of North Depot St., Albemarle, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, in Stanly Regional Medical Center. Her funeral was a 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Tim Whittington officiated and burial was in Fairview Memorial Park. Born March 23, 1931, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Ronie Furr and was a retired employee of Wiscassett Mills Co. One daughter, Ellen Almond, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Ricky Almond and wife, Sandy, of Albemarle; a sister, Ruby Furr Clark of Albemarle; two grandchildren, Michael Almond and wife, Crystal, of Mint Hill, and Jeffrey Almond of Albemarle; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Madison. In addition, she is survived by her faithful companions, Precious and Buddy, Three brothers, Craig, Pratt and Marvin Furr, and a sister, Margaret Furr Shaver, preceded her in death.
