MOORESVILLE -- Irene Campbell Furr Byrd, 91, died February 9, 2007. Graveside service 2 pm Sunday, Glenwood Memorial Park; visitation follows, Central UMC. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Byrd, Irene Campbell Furr. Born April 11, 1915, in Pittsboro, she was the daughter Exline and Alma Whitaker Campbell. She was a housewife and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Mooresville. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Byrd and Herman W. Furr. She is survived by her children, Gretchen Sifford of Concord, Alan Furr and wife, Diane, of Kannapolis, Margaret Ann Crowley and husband, Charles, of Huntersville; sister, Katherine Herndon of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Lindsay Gordon and husband, Brad, Ashley Lomax and husband, Jerry, Bill Sifford, Lisa Morrison and husband, Billy, and Cathy Styles and husband, Steve; and great-grandson, Brayden Gordon. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at Central United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Best of Care Assisted Living, 234 Northdale Ave., Kannapolis, NC 28081. The family of Mrs. Byrd is being served by Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
