Death

Mr. Jerry Wayne Furr, 79, passed away on October 19, 2018. His family will receive friends on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 11 am-12:30 pm at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church where the service will begin at 12:30 pm. He will have military honors performed at his graveside at 3 pm at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill, SC. Jerry was born on April 16, 1939 in Stanly County, son of the late Reece Fraley Furr and Faye Lee Furr. He was also preceded in death by a son John Furr and daughter Cynthia Lee. He served in the US Air Force. Jerry retired from UPS. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He sang with the Roustabouts and Pinetuckett Bluegrass Gospel Bands. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy Smith Lee Furr of Monroe; children Steve Furr (Denise) of Harrisburg, Kenneth Lee (Kathy) of Rock Hill, SC, Keith Lee of Seattle, WA and Patty Randolph (Scott) of Concord; sister, Janis Hinson (Ted); 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons.
