Death

Beatrice “Bea” Agee Furr age 77, of Monroe, NC, and formerly of Martinsville, died Friday January 21, 2011 at her home in Monroe. She was born September 3, 1933 in Martinsville to the late Roy Kelly and Mary Isabelle Lankford Agee. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by one grandson, Joseph A. York, two brothers, James and Leo Agee, and one sister, Mary Hopkins. She was an active member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Monroe, and was retired from the Martinsville DuPont Nylon Plant with 32 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Furr of the home, three sons, Jim Painter of Sheridan, AR, John and Stephen Furr of Concord, NC, three daughters, Pam P. Southard of Richmond, Vicki Painter of Lynchburg, and Patty Randolph of Concord, NC, three brothers, Leonard, Larry, and Ted Agee, all of Martinsville, three sisters, Doris Wilson of Axton, Margaret Riggs of Martinsville, and Patsy Hodges of Ridgeway, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be Monday January 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Rev. Nickolas Rochester and Rev. Ken Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the service on Monday and at other times at the family home at 500 Chatmoss Court, Martinsville. There was a Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Furr on Saturday January 22, 2011 at 3:00 PM in Mount Carmel UMC, Monroe, NC.
