ALBEMARLE Nellie Arlene Hathcock Furr, 71, 310 Centerview Church Road, died Wednesday (Feb 9, 1994) at the home of son Jerry Furr, 611 Running Brook Lane, Rural Hall, after a period of declining health. Born Aug 19, 1922, in Albemarle, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late Mallard and Helen Sanders Hathcock. She was a member of Centerview Baptist Church and a retired employee of Wiscasset Mills Co, where she had been a winder. Survivors include husband the Rev. Mahlon Lee Furr; sons Jerry Furr, Rural Hall, and Kenneth Furr, Lancaster, SC, daughter Naomi Poole,Salisbury, brother Robert L. Hathcock, Albemarle; sisters Blanch Hinson, New London, and Daisy Ingram, Badin; half brothers Bain, Richard and Carl Hathcock, all of Albemarle, half sister Ruby Barbee, Albemarle; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Services: 2 pm Sunday, Centerview Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ronnie Vaughn, pastor, and the Rev. Claude Harrison. Burial in the church cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 p m. Saturday, Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle.
