Death
CONCORD — Mrs. Ellen Melinda Billings, 81, of Pinecrest Dr., died early today at her home. The body will remain at Hartsell’s Funeral Home pending arrangements. Mrs. Billings was born March 31, 1885 in Stanly County, daughter of the late Eli Furr and Mrs. Lucy Hartsell Furr. She was the wife of the late Charles Lawson Billings. Surviving are three sons, Lewis Billings of Asheboro and Edgar and Howard Billings of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Wilma Greer of Concord and Mrs. Doris Oats of Baltimore, Md.; one brother, Albert Furr of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Anna Everette of Okla; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Billings was a member of Broadus Memorial Presbyterian Church.Independent Tribune, Concord, North Carolina, April 12, 1967
