ALBEMARLE -— Mrs. Hazel Austin Furr, 56, of 231 N Fifth St., died 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Stanly Memorial Hospital following an illness of two days. The funeral was to be 2 p.m. today in Stanly Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert Elwood and the Rev. Darrell Furr. Burial was to be in Fairview Memorial Park. Born Aug. 17, 1925, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Paul Lee and Hallie Hubbard Austin. She was a retired textile worker and attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church. Her husband, Robert Furr, died in February of 1979. Survivors include one son, Eddie Franklin McCoy of New York, one sister, Mrs. Ruth Tennant of Albemarle, and two grandchildren.Endnotes
