CHERAW — Services for Prentice Lee ‘“Buddy” Furr, 75, of 701 West Green St. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Kiser Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Cheraw Rescue Squad. Mr. Furr died Thursday, Oct. 5, 1995. Born in Cheraw, he was a son of the late Ed K. Furr and Lula Howard. An Army veteran of World War II, he retired as owner of P.L. Furr Trucking Co. Surviving are his wife, Ester Chavis Furr; sons, Jackie and Richard Furr, both of Cheraw, Perry Furr of Wallace and Phillip Furr of Wrightsville, Ga.; sisters, Willie Mae Kelly, Myrtle Johnson, Annie Melton and Ethel Rainwater, all of Cheraw; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, October 6, 1995
