Death

ENIGMA—Funeral services for James Marion Furr, 40, Enigma construction worker who was killed early Sunday in a traffic accident, were held Monday in the Enigma Christian Church, with burial in Turner Cemetery. Rev. Otto Culpepper officiated. Furr was killed when his car ran off U. S. 82 east of Tifton and crashed into an embankment. He was born Jan. 15, 1921 in Brookfield. His father was the late John Rober Furr, and his mother is Mrs. Chirty Lizzie Stone Furr, who survived and lives in Enigma. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had lived in the Enigma area most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jacqueline Sapp Furr; three sons, Jerry Kenneth, James Marion Jr.and Thomas Wayne Furr; and two daughters, Judith Winnona, and Elizabeth Jan Furr, all of Enigma; five brothers, Nathan, Jessie and Albert Furr, all of Hosford, Fla., Malton Robert Furr, of Enigma, and Edward Furr of Aurora, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Brooks of Pavo and Mrs. Mary Harding of Enigma.
