Death
MIDLAND ~ Tommie Lee Furr, 89, 3675 Cal Bost Road died Friday Dec. 1, 1993 at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital Concord. Born July 26, 1904, in Concord, he was a son of the late John Thomas and Mary Jane Phillips Furr. He was a retired fixer in the textile industry and was a member of Howells Baptist Church. His wife Bessie Lee Talbert Furr preceded him in death. Survivors include son John Thomas Furr, Midland, sisters Elizabeth Redwine, Salisbury Elvia Blackwell, Concord, nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services 11 am Tuesday Howells Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Ray Rippy and the Rev. Jim Furr. Burial in West Concord Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Visitation 7-8 pm Monday Hartsell Funeral Home Concord. At other times they will be at the residence 3675 Cal Bost Road.Endnotes
