Death
Zeb Baird Furr, 84, of 409 S. 17th Ave, Hopewell, died unexpectedly this morning of a heart attack while visiting in a son’s home. He was a retired carpenter and native of Stanley County, N.C. and had lived in Hopewell since 1928. He was a member and former elder of West End Presbyterian Church, Woodmen of the World and Junior Order of United American Mechanics. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary J. Furr; one daughter, Mrs. Levi Jones of South Norfolk; three sons; Leslie D. Furr, Bennie B. Furr, and Ira C. Furr, all of Hopewell; one sister, Mrs. Elmira Harwood of Albemarle, N.C.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday ay 2 p.m. in West End Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chesterfield County.The Progress Index, Friday, September 8, 1961
