FURR, EARL MARTIN - age 97 of Concord, NC., born on July 31, 1908 and passed away Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Eden Gardens of Concord. He was member of First Baptist Church, Charlotte. Mr. Furr grew up on a farm in Cabarrus County. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After 42 years of service, Mr. Furr retired from New York Life Insurance Co., in 1974. He was preceded in death by: wife of 49 years, Trilla Mae McGinnis Furr; father, Walter Columbus Furr; mother, Rena Att Little Furr; brothers, Carl and Charlie Furr; sisters, Lela and Alma Furr. Survivors: son, Guilford Furr and wife Sallie of Charleston, TN; sister, Ola Abernethy of Concord, NC; brother, Coy Lee Furr and wife Doris of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Sherry Furr of Knoxville, TN and Earl Furr of Rogersville, TN; great grandchildren, Andrew Furr Foster of Knoxville, TN, Sarah Furr Moore and husband Dan of Cleveland, TN and Melissa Furr of Cleveland, TN; great great grandchild, Conner Moore of Cleveland, TN; nephew, Dr. Carl Furr and wife Sharon of Concord, NC; niece, Ellen Bates and husband Pat of Arco, ID; friend, Dewey Drye of Concord, NC; special neighbors, Clyde and Rachel Towel of Concord, NC and Bub and Phil Coltrane of Concord, NC. Funeral services Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, NC, Rev. Ken Craig officiating. Burial in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be Tuesday August 2, 200 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord, NC.
