Death
KANNAPOLIS — Floyd William Honeycutt, 85, of 501 Terrace Drive, died Friday (Feb. 1, 2002) at NorthEast Medical Center. Born Sept. 16, 1916, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Riley and Mamie Furr Honeycutt. He was educated in the Stanly County Schools. He retired from Hilbish Ford in the maintenance department. He had earlier worked in cotton mills. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include wife, Margaret Jones Honeycutt, of the home; sons Cullen Wilbanks, Kannapolis, and Lynn Wilbanks, Wahalla, SC; daughters Edith Hoyt, Tammy Garmon, and Martha Haynes, all of China Grove, Brenda McEicheran and Peggy Long, both of Salisbury, Barbara Dean Honeycutt and Nita Wilbanks, both of Kannapolis, and Anna Jean Tucker, of Charlotte; brothers Clifford Honeycutt, Marvin Honeycutt, Hugh Honeycutt, H.H. Honeycutt, A.P. Honeycutt, John Honeycutt and Coy Honeycutt, all of Cabarrus County; sisters Letha Smith, Zula Helms and Lois Smith, all of Cabarrus County; 30 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Graham and the Rev. Marvin Honeycutt. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park.
