Marriage

Gail Montgomery of Houston, Texas, and U.S Coast Guard Coxswain John ‘‘Jacques’’ Girault Furr III of Surfside, Texas, were united in marriage Sunday, Oct. 30 at Anchor Baptist Chapel in Surfside. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Vera H. Jerome of Houston and the late Gates H. Montgomery. Parents of the bridegroom are Mrs. Ruth L. Furr of Pass Christian and the late John Girault Furr Jr. Given in marriage by her brother, Bill Montgomery, the bride was attended by her sister, Shirley M. Ramirez of Houston, who served as maid of honor. Colin Sykes of the U.S. Coast Guard in Surfside served the bridegroom as best man. A reception at Smith’s Lookout on the beach at Surfside followed the ceremony. After a honeymoon trip to New Orleans and Florida, the couple will reside in Surfside, Texas.

Death

PASS CHRISTIAN — John Girault “Jacques” Furr Ill, 27, 107 Palm Drive, Pass Christian, died Sunday, May 17, 1987, in Gulfport. Mr. Furr was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian and had served in the Coast Guard. He was a Catholic. He is survived by two sisters, Miss Lorie Ann Furr and Mrs. Mary Suzette Furr O’Donnell, both of Pass Christian. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis is in charge of arrangements.
