Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Eliza Furr, 60, died yesterday morning at her home at Albemarle, Rt. 4. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Poplin of Stanly County and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Canton Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. O. H Bolt assisted by Elder C. M. Mills. Burial will be in the cemetery at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Furr is survived by her husband, Levi E Furr, and by eight sons and daughters: Mrs. D. A. Blake of Greensboro, Mrs. Harvey Burleson and Horace Furr of Albemarle, Rt. 4, Mrs. George Mauldin, Mrs. W. P. Cagle and Vernon Furr of Albemarle, Dewey Furr and Mrs. Oscar Harris of Charlotte and Miss Peggy Furr of the home; 22 grandchildren and four brothers.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, September 24, 1949
