ALBEMARLE - Mr. Horace Jasper Furr 80, of 24501 Endy Road died Sept. 7, 1995, at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial at Canton Baptist Church. Hartsell Funeral Home is in charge.

ALBEMARLE — Horace Jasper Furr, 80, 24501 Endy Road, died Thursday (Sept. 7, 1995) at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Born March 8, 1915, in Albemarle, Furr was a son of the late Levi E. and Liza Jane Poplin Furr. He retired as a card tender from Wiscasset Mills with 35 years of service. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Ason, James Darrell “Sonny” Furr, preceded him in death. Survivors include wife Hallie Mae Horne, son Donnie Ray Furr ... , Peggy Herrin, Oakboro, Mae Burleson and Louise Mauldin, Albemarle; stepson the Rev. Darrell Huneycutt, New London; stepdaughters Frances Blanks, Faith, Brenda Hatley, New Salem, and Gail Dickson, Albemarle; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six great-grand-children; and 13 step-great-grandchildren. Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Fellowship Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Huneycutt, pastor and stepson, and the Rev. Steve Tucker. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial in Canton Baptist Cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The rest of the time, the family will be at the home of granddaughter Lori Lowder, 32661 N.C. Highway.
