ALBEMARLE — Ruth Shaver Furr, 76, of 300 Creekridge Circle, died Saturday (Nov 19, 1994) at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Born Jan. 11, 1918, in Rowan County, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late J.B. and Ada Vanhoy Shaver. Retired from Wiscassett Mill Co., she was a member of Canton Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters Sue Mesimer, New London, and Jean Foster, Conway, Ark., brothers Kenneth Shaver, Lake Wylie, S.C., and Harry C. and John Ray Shaver, both of Albemarle, sister Helen S. Aldridge, Richfield, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Services: A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Stanly Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Hunsucker. Memorials: Hospice of Stanly County, 620 N. First St., Albemarle, N.C., 28001.Endnotes
