Death
ARCHDALE - John Cameron "Pap" White, 79, of 10419 S. Main St. died Feb. 19, 2002, at his residence.He was born June 26, 1922, in Randolph County, a son of Robert Lyndon and Minnie Furr White, who both preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former truck driver with Carolina Container. He was a NASCAR driver and was recognized as a former driver at Petty Enterprise's 50th anniversary. He attended Glenola Baptist Church. He married Etta King in 1952, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a son, J.C. White Jr., and a brother, Robert Worth White.
Surviving are a daughter, Cathie Honeycutt and husband, Mike, of 4720 Rolling Road, Trinity; a stepdaughter, Bonnie York of Lexington; five sisters, Mary Lee Morgan, Mrs. Jimmy (Doris) Canter, Mrs. Frank (Carol) Hicks and Mrs. Wayne (Rachel) Hunsucker, all of Archdale, and Sara Ann Earnhardt of Emerald Isle; five brothers, Keith White and wife, Emma Mae of Trinity, Ray L. White and wife, Lela Ann, J.V. (Buck) White and wife, Betty, and Charles White and wife, Mittie, all of Archdale, and Bobby White and wife, Maxine, of Sophia; two grandchildren, Jason Honeycutt and Amanda Clodfelter; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, by the Rev. Franklin "Buddy" Fox. Burial will be in floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
