Marriage

At a charmingly informal wedding this morning at 11 o’clock Mass Margaret Alene Ward be came the bride of Mr. Woodrow Craig Furr of High Point. The wedding took place at Lake Lanier at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ward. The ceremony was performed bv the bride’s pastor, Rev. B. G. Henry of the First Baptist church. The bride and bridegroom entered together. Only members of the two families were present. The bride wore a two-toned ensemble of blue with biege and tan accessories. Her flowers were a shoulder bouquet of white orchids. The home was attractively decorated by Mr. and Mrs. Tom Costa. Palm leaves formed the background. The bridal table was decorated with white roses and maiden hair ferns. Salmon roses, yellow snap dragons, blue delphenium, gerbera and Boston daisies, and white gladioli were used throughout the house. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Ward. She is a graduate of Tryon high school and of Queens college. The bride groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Furr of High Point. He was graduated from North Carolina State college. The young couple will make their home in Marion, Virginia, where Mr. Furr is connected with the Burlington Mills, Inc.

Death

Mr. W. Craig Furr, age 79, of Atlanta, died December 25, 1992. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anita Tapp Furr, Atlanta; brothers, James W. Furr, Brooksville, FL; Grover C. Furr, Hollywood, FL; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 27 at 2:30 o'clock at Oglethorpe Hill. Rev. Robert Bone, Rev. Jerry Anderson officiating. Entombment, Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell. The nephews will serve as pallbearers. The Forum Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chamblee First United Methodist Church, 4147 Chamblee-Dunwoody Rd., Chamblee, Ga. 30341. Mr. Furr was the vice president of Operations for Mary Gray Hosiery, Bristol, Va. He was the president and treasurer of Lee Hosiery, Landrum S.C. He was a retired U.S. Army Major and served 5 years in the European Theatre during World War II. He was the past president of the Rotary Club, Tryon, S.C. He was a member of Chamblee First United Methodist Church and the Forum Sunday School Class. H.M. Patterson & Son, 4550 Peachtree Rd.
