George W. Furr 54, native of Columbia, and a resident of Biloxi for one year and a half, died at 7:10 a.m. Sunday at his residence, 830 Hoxie Lane. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Langley Furr, Biloxi; one son, Carl Travis Furr of Biloxi; one daughter Mrs. Otera Barlos, from Pensacola, Fla.; nine grandchildren: two brothers, Will Furr of Ocean Springs and Walter Furr of Bogalusa, La; five sisters, Mrs. Mattie Stanley of Bruce, Fla., Mrs. Mary Hartfield of Hattiesburg; Mrs. Allen D. Angelo of Pascagoula; Mrs. Alfred Slocum of Columbia, and Mrs. Mae Neilson, Montana, one stepson, Harold C. Harbour, Biloxi, and two stepdaughters, Mrs. Allen McCraw, and Miss Mary Ann Furr, both of Biloxi. The funeral was held today from the residence followed by services at the Antioch Methodist Church, services by the Rev. R. D. Bond. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.Sun Herald, Biloxi, Mississippi, February 24, 1958
