Death

Silas Dewayne Furr, 54, of Star, NC passed away on March 9, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The service will be held Thursday, March 17, at 4 PM at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church, with a 30-minute state. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the burial. Mr. Furr was born in Stanly County on August 9, 1956 to the late Silas Monroe Furr and Nellie Efird Furr. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife Kathy Furr of the home; daughter, Jennifer Furr of Albemarle; step-son, Jeffrey Williams of Arkansas; step-daughter, Susan Ottarson of Virginia; mother, Nellie Furr of Albemarle; brothers, Roy Furr of Albemarle, Cuffie Furr of Oakboro; sister, Jetana Furr of Albemarle; granddaughters, Jacklynn Ottarson and Hayley Batten. Memorials may be made to Hartsell Funeral Home. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Furr family.
