Death

Patsy White, 67, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 18, 2007. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, 523 Main St., Grapevine. Burial: Whites Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Patsy was born Patricia Louise Furr on Dec. 22, 1939, in Fort Worth. About 1948 her parents moved to Keller, where Patsy grew up. In high school she was a good student, a cheerleader and a basketball player. She and her husband, Dwaine, began dating in the fall of 1956. She was a junior and he a senior. They married Feb. 28, 1959. Most of the time they lived in Keller. They moved to Davis, Okla., in May 2005. Except for working a few times, part time, she had always been a homemaker. Patsy and Dwaine raised three children. She was an election judge, president of the PTA, Cub Scout den mother, substitute teacher, Bible class teacher, and member of several quilt guilds. She was a quilter, spinner, weaver and knitter. She was a good cook. Patsy was an avid reader and liked crossword puzzles. A gardener, she raised flowers, herbs, dye plants, cacti and vegetables. She had four llamas and one sheep. She used their wool for spinning and weaving. Patsy lacked only a few courses to complete a degree in special education. Most importantly of all, Patsy was a Christian and a member of East Main Church of Christ. Survivors: Husband, Dwaine White; children, Carla Hill and husband, Steve, Matt White and wife, Ann, and Margaret Payne and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Ryan White, Alice Hill, Becky Hill and Will White; brother, Leroy Furr and wife, Abbie Shapiro; sister, Alice Cooney and husband, Nick; sister-in-law, Karla Furr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
