Death

Chilton N. Furr, 64, of McComb, died Oct. 15, 1996, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Visitation is 5-10 tonight at Catchings Funeral Home of McComb. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Tom Loden and Bro. Henry Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Pike Memorial Gardens. Mr. Furr was born Jan. 16, 1932, in Poplarville. He was the son of Albert E. Furr and Alice I. Furr. He was a retired switchman for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and was a member of Westgate Baptist Church in McComb. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the United Transportation Union. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Agnes Lee Sterling. He is survived by his wife, Ineta Ball Furr of McComb; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Albert and Lisa Furr and Neil and Staci Furr, all of McComb, and Chilton N, “Chip” Furr Jr. of Ellisville; one daughter, Alice Ann Furr Turner of Atlanta; one sister, Ernestine Furr Young of McComb; seven grandchildren, Heather Furr, Steven Furr, Sarah Beth Furr, Jessica Furr, Mitchell Furr, Michael Falcone and Paul Falcone; and a number of nieces and nephews.
