Death
KANNAPOLIS Mrs. Kate Angeline Treece White, 99, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Willie Rash will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. White was born July 19, 1913, in Stanly County. She was a daughter of the late James Treece and Rosa Furr Treece. Mrs. White retired from Cannon Mills after 45 years of service. After retiring, she worked at Five Oaks Nursing Center. Mrs. White was a member of Centerview Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning the vegetables she grew. Mrs. White enjoyed cooking anytime for her family and friends. She loved her three sons and her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Comus Cleo White; son, James N. White; five sisters; and four brothers. Mrs. White is survived by her two sons, Bobby Wayne White and wife, Carolyn, of Kannapolis and Jerry O. White and wife, Barbara, of Alabama; daughter-in-law, Betty S. White; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grand-children. The family wishes to express their thanks to Mrs. White's special caregivers.
