Death
R. Frederick Hatcher, 69, real estate investment broker in Washington for 33 years, died suddenly yesterday after a heart attack in Garfield Hospital. Born in Hamilton, Va., Mr. Hatcher was educated at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He first came to this city in 1906, later becoming prominent in business circles. He was a member of the Board of Trade, the Mount Pleasant Citizens’ Association and attended the Francis Asbury Methodist Church. Mr. Hatcher was also a member of Lebanon Lodge, No. 7, of Masons. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Blanche Furr Hatcher; a daughter, Gertrude Hatcher of Raleigh, N. C.; two sons, Henry Frederick Hatcher of Washington and Rodney W. Hatcher of New York City; a sister, Mrs. P. H. Heironimus of this city. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Hines’ funeral home. 2901 Fourteenth street N.W. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Va.Evening Star, Washington, District of Columbia, December 6, 1939
