Death
EDMOND MONROE HAND is buried in the Hand Cemetery of Red River Parish. He was born Jan. 8, 1875 and died April 6, 1960. He lost his first wife, LAURAARAMENTA McGRAW HAND, during the birth of their seventh child.
E.M. Hand, 85, of Coushatta, died Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. in a local hospital after a short illness. A retired farmer, Mr. Hand was a lifelong resident of Coushatta. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. L.N. Childs of Bakersfield, California, Mrs. Eva George Journer of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. B.E. Coody of Anderson, Indiana, and Mrs. T. Edwards of Bossier City; four sons, John Dee Hand of Coushatta, Lisso Hand of Freeport, Texas, Dr. E.A. Hand of Springhill, and Drinnon Houston of Freeport, Texas; two brothers, B.H. Hand and L.F. Hand, both of Hall Summitt; and a sister, Mrs. Clyde Moreland of Hall Summitt. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Hand Cemetery near Coushatta.
