Death
O. W. Duncan of Calf Creek, 86, who has a number of relatives in Eldorado and who has visited here often, died early Thursday morning at the home of his son W. R. Duncan at Calf Creek. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Calf Creek school, the Rev. Bill Arnold, Baptist pastor from Mason, officiating, and burial was in Calf Creek Cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers: Jamie Duncan, J. W. Smith, O. L. Furr, Merel Owen Duncan, Alvin Farris and Bill Bingham. A native of South Texas, Mr. Duncan farmed near Calf Creek about 50 years. He was a life-long member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Three grown children preceded him in death, Mrs. Hattie Lee, Mrs. Whit Smith, and Curtis Duncan. Surviving are: five daughters, Mrs. Lillie Smith of Brady, Jessie Duncan of Mexia, Mrs. Edna Furr of Eldorado, Mrs. Pearl Bolt of Mason, and Mrs. Mary Farris of San Angelo; four sons, W. R. of Calf Creek, Jim of Mason, Tom of Odessa and Raleigh of San Angelo; 26 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and one great-great grand daughter, Linda Bingham, of Brady. He had been ill only two weeks, and bedfast only part of that time. He had visited his relatives here often and was well known in the county. Among those attending the funeral from here were relatives: Whit Smith, Gladys Boswell, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. T. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Furr, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Danford, Freddie Furr Shore, Oran Lee Furr, Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Bradshaw and Monetta; friends: Mr. and Mrs. Tom Alexander, Ray Alexander, Mrs. R. B.
