Death

Robert Emmett McLaughlin Sr., St. Joseph, MO, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2001, at Laverna Village, Savannah, MO. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 22, at Park Lawn Funeral Home. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, where a Rosary will be recited. Mr. McLaughlin was born April 20, 1910 in Gloucester, MA. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1934. He had worked for the Mississippi State Highway Department, the Tennessee Valley Authority, the L&N Railroad, and the Kansas City Southern Railroad, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Professional Engineers. He is survived by his wife, Flora G. McLaughlin of the home; three sons, Robert E. McLaughlin Jr., Ducla, GA, Dr. James L. McLaughlin, Ocala, FL and Dr. William L. McLaughlin, Woodbridge, VA; two daughters, Mary Groben, Tucson, AZ and Dr. Susan Ann Vega, St. Joseph, MO; two brothers, John L. McLaughlin, Lombard, IL and William S. McLaughlin, Estero, FL; sister, Anna Farr, Ft. Myers, FL; 16 grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.
