Death

Thelma Marie Kidd, age 87, passed away at her home in Ardmore, surrounded by her family on September 5, 2018. She was born on January 31, 1931 in Town Creek, AL to Herbert and Pauline (Furr) Lansdell. Mrs. Kidd graduated from Athens College in Athens, AL and received advanced degrees in education from Alabama A & M in Normal, AL. She was married to Rev. Wheeler Kidd, her high school sweetheart, for sixty-seven years. Together they pastored churches in Indiana, Georgia, and Alabama and served as Southern Baptist Missionaries to Singapore and Malaysia. Mrs. Kidd taught at Harvest and Madison Cross Roads elementary schools for over twenty-six years. Mrs. Kidd loved to paint, work in the garden and be with her family. Some of her favorite moments were spent with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by; her son, Ron (Sherry) and daughter, Micki Woodfin (Scott); grandchildren, Brandon Kidd (Rachel), Josh Kidd (Katie), Garrett Kid (Sarah), Tarah Woodfin, Zach Woodfin, and Jordan Woodfin; greatgrandchildren, Addison Kidd, Spencer Kidd and Connor Kidd. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn Marshall and Bro Aaron Armstrong officiating. Buriall to follow at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL. The family will greet friends at First Baptist Church on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 12 noon until time for service.
