Death
Died at her home in Hickory Flats, Benton County, Miss., March 28, 1892, Mrs. Mahala Whitesides, wife of Uncle John N. Whitesides. She was born in Bedford county, Tenn. Oct. 7, 1821. Made a profession of faith in Christ when about fifteen years of age and joined the Free-will Baptist church. After her marriage she came to the Cumberland Presbyterian church for admission and was received. She was wedded on 6th day of Feb., 1845. Was the mother of 9 children. Four have preceded her. Brother & sister Whitesides have been members of Hickory Flats cong. since 1869. She lived but a few days after being stricken with la grippe and suffered intense pain before death came to her relief, but bore it all Christlike fortitude, telling her aged companion that she could not live long and that she was ready to answer her Master's call. --- C.
