CONCORD, Jan. 25 — Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dry announce the marriage of their daughter, Helen, to D. V. Furr Jr, on Dec. 24, in York, S. C. Mr. Furr is a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Furr with whom the couple at present make their home.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, January 26, 1941
Death
Helen Rose Drye Morgan, born May 20, 1922 in Cabarrus County, NC peacefully embraced God on September 30, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. She retired from Kelly AFB after 25 years of Civil Service. She also served 2 years in the Navy, as a communication specialist. She had a passion for reading, crocheting, playing dominos and loved working in her beautiful rose garden. Helen also traveled extensively throughout Europe, South Africa and Australia. She now joins her parents, Walter and Martha Drye; her sister Hilda Moose; her brothers Clarence and Paul Drye. She is survived by her husband Olen Morgan; daughters Janet Gwendolyn Morgan-Lewis and Wanda Kay Morgan-Baer and husband Linus Baer; sisters, Nora Belle Crayton and Ruby Buckwell; brother, Clyde Drye; she is also survived by other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 7400 Louis Pasteur, San Antonio, TX 78229-4514 210 822-6449. Family will start receiving friends beginning at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2009 for a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North.Endnotes
