Death

MOUNT PLEASANT - Mrs. Elvin (Evelyn) Tucker Allman, of 4050 Cauble Road, died at home on Friday, Nov.10, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Mt. Gilead Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Linda Voelker and the Rev. Howard Baker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Allman's family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant. Mrs. Allman was born May 31, 1932, to the late James and Mandy Harvell Tucker of Stanfield. She was a member of Mount Gilead Lutheran Church and served in many ways. She retired early from textiles and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, one sister and five brothers. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arnold Allman; daughters, Barbara Furr and husband, Bobby, of Albemarle, Sue Allmon of Mount Pleasant; son, Eddie Allman and wife, Trisha, of Concord; brothers, Houston, Jiles, and P.J. Tucker, all of Stanfield; sister, Dolly Russell of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
