Death

Arnold Eugene Allman, 93, of Mount Pleasant passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at The Greens at Cabarrus. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday September 29 at Mt. Gilead Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Allman family will receive friends on Saturday, September 28 from 6:00-8:00 at Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant. Arnold was born May 16, 1931 to Jacob Monroe and Carrie Eury Allman. He was preceded in death by Elvin, his wife of 57 years, his parents, four brothers: Boyd, Ralph, Fred and Glenn, three sisters; Marie, Gertrude and Sarah; a great grandchild and a great great grandchild. Arnold is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Bobby) Furr, Sue Allmon, his son; Eddie (Trish) Allman, brothers; Carl, Cecil(Violet), Buddy(Hilda) and sister; Mary Isenhour. He has 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Arnold was an active member of Mount Gilead Lutheran Church. He worked at Kerr Bleachery for many years in a supervisory role and later at Concord Warehouse. In retirement, he was a collector of many items of interest.
