Death

Mrs. Nellie Greene McIntyre, 91, of Jay Lane, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Troy, with Rev. Mark Holder and Rev. William Saunders officiating. Born on August 1, 1922 in Montgomery County, Mrs. McIntyre was the daughter of Victor and Matilda Parnell Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Fred McIntyre. She is survived by 3 sons, Butch McIntyre and wife Joyce, Jim and John McIntyre, all of Troy; 2 daughters, Judy Holder and husband Mark of Ruckersville, VA and Jan Underwood and husband Buddy of Asheboro; a brother, V.A. Greene of Mt. Gilead and 2 sisters, Elma Miller and Dortha Cave, both of Troy; 10 Grandchildren, Annette McIntyre, Fred McIntyre, Ronnie McIntyre, Eva and Leslie Suggs, Jim II and Christy McIntyre, April and Joe Daywalt, Joe and Jennifer McIntyre, Johnny McIntyre, Gregory Holder and Laura Holder and a number of Great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle NC 28001. Briggs Funeral Home of Troy is assisting with the arrangements.
